The Scum and the destroyed Order

Opposition is not the same as innocence.

01 / Organizations

What Scum is now

The current record defines Scum as strongly democratic and moderately supportive of supernatural participation. It is also moderately corrupt. Its opposition to Cortex can involve bargaining and influence as well as organized resistance.

Natural and supernatural members can participate. The faction does not impose the old general combat or arcane admission requirement. Organizers and negotiators belong in the description alongside fighters and researchers.

Why the Order is history

The current faction history describes the Order as destroyed by Cortex. Player joining is closed in creation and operative-related paths. Older help pages that advertise Cortex and Order and Scum as three equivalent current options are not a reliable guide.

The surviving opposition draws different lessons from that defeat. The Scum record describes members who regard the Order's destruction as evidence that principled restraint was not enough. That supplies a conflict over methods rather than a second faction with the same beliefs as Cortex.

03 / Organizations

A society is another option

Player-founded societies remain a distinct organization path. Joining a faction and joining a player society are not ordinarily simultaneous new memberships. Read the membership rule before assuming a resistance concept can collect several organizations at once.
