Ordinary backgrounds

Local and Visitor are Tier 1 human backgrounds. Student is also a Tier 1 entry. Soldier is Tier 2. Important Local is Tier 2 while Local Celebrity and Community Pillar are Tier 3. Special Forces is a separate Tier 3 record rather than another name for Soldier.

These distinctions are part of the actual creation table. They should not be replaced with invented classes such as Investigator or Enforcer. Those can describe a role someone plays without becoming a new archetype.

The unusual human entries

Timeswept is Tier 2 and represents a person displaced from an earlier period. Its timeswept <years> command records the missing interval without treating it as ordinary biological aging. Wildling is another separate Tier 2 record.

Gifted is a Tier 2 archetype classified as natural. Gifted Veteran is a distinct Tier 3 archetype with a supernatural classification and is not available through ordinary character creation.

Civil Servant

Civil Servant is Tier 2 with a listed creation age of 22 to 50. Selecting it assigns Cortex membership. Leaving the faction or joining a different organization cannot bypass that requirement. A concept based on escaping that membership needs to account for the coded restriction rather than assuming it is only flavour text.
